Either you’re on it or you want it.

For many years a close friend of mines always tried to instill in me, people are who they are and you can’t expect them to be anything other than that.  For some odd reason as smart as I believe myself to be, that was the one lesson I feel I’m still trying to understand today.  There’s been relentless times in which I’ve expected my home boys to come out of their shell, not saying they are shy, but referring to certain aspects of being a male, that should come natural with age and / or experience, but that had yet to happen.  Seems I constantly get let down any time there’s an opportunity for them to seize the moment.  How many misfortunes do one get in life?  Another friend presented me with the cliche a zebra never changes its stripes. Well I guess “if you hang around $hit for so long, you’re eventually gonna smell.”
